Terms & Conditions for Buyers

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the LipaTix platform and your purchase of event tickets through our service. By accessing or using LipaTix, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1 Introduction

LipaTix is an online event ticketing platform that enables buyers to discover events and purchase tickets digitally. By accessing or using the LipaTix website, services, or purchasing tickets through the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use the platform.

2 Role of LipaTix

LipaTix acts as a ticketing intermediary between event organizers and ticket buyers.

Intermediary Role:
LipaTix facilitates ticket sales, payment processing, and ticket delivery but does not organize, host, or manage events directly.
Event Responsibility:
Event details, pricing, schedules, and policies are set by the event organizer. Any issues related to the event itself remain the responsibility of the organizer.

3 Ticket Purchase & Payment

3.1 Purchase Process

All ticket purchases are made online through LipaTix. A ticket is considered valid only after successful payment confirmation.

3.2 Payment Methods

Payments may be made via supported payment methods including:

  • M-Pesa
  • Credit/Debit Cards
  • Mobile Banking
  • Other approved payment gateways

3.3 Ticket Delivery

Once payment is completed, tickets are delivered digitally via email and/or the buyer's account. You are responsible for ensuring your contact details are correct at checkout.

Important Note

Failed payments do not guarantee ticket reservation. Tickets are only secured upon full payment confirmation.

4 Ticket Delivery & Access

4.1 Electronic Tickets

Tickets are issued electronically (PDF or digital ticket with QR code). Each ticket contains a unique QR code used for entry validation.

4.2 Ticket Access

Buyers may download tickets and access them anytime through their account or email. Lost or deleted tickets can be re-downloaded from the platform.

4.3 Prohibited Actions

Sharing, duplicating, or reselling tickets without authorization is strictly prohibited and may result in ticket cancellation without refund.

5 Entry & Event Admission

5.1 Entry Requirements

Admission to an event is subject to ticket validation at the venue. Tickets may be scanned once unless otherwise specified.

5.2 Right to Deny Entry

Event organizers or authorized staff reserve the right to deny entry if:

  • A ticket has already been used
  • A ticket is invalid, altered, or duplicated
  • Event rules are violated
  • The ticket holder does not meet age or other requirements

5.3 Platform Liability

LipaTix is not responsible for denial of entry due to organizer policies, venue rules, or ticket validation issues.

6 Refunds & Cancellations

6.1 Refund Policy

Refunds are governed by the event organizer's refund policy. Some events may be non-refundable.

6.2 Refund Eligibility

Refund eligibility, amounts, and timelines are set by the organizer. Service fees or transaction fees may not be refundable.

6.3 Event Cancellations

If an event is cancelled or postponed, buyers will be informed accordingly through registered contact details.

6.4 Platform Guarantee

LipaTix does not guarantee refunds unless explicitly stated in the event organizer's policy or required by law.

Important Notice

Always review the specific refund policy for each event before making a purchase, as policies may vary between events.

7 Event Changes

Event details such as date, time, venue, performers, or format may change. Organizers are responsible for communicating major changes to ticket holders.

LipaTix is not liable for changes made by organizers. Buyers are encouraged to check event updates regularly through their account or organizer communications.

8 Buyer Responsibilities

As a buyer, you agree to:

  1. Provide accurate and complete information during registration and checkout
  2. Keep your ticket secure and confidential
  3. Follow venue rules and event policies
  4. Not misuse, duplicate, or resell tickets unlawfully
  5. Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

Any misuse may result in ticket cancellation without refund and potential legal action.

9 Platform Availability

LipaTix aims to provide a reliable service but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. The platform may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance
  • Technical issues
  • Security upgrades
  • External service disruptions
  • Force majeure events

LipaTix is not liable for losses caused by temporary downtime.

10 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  1. LipaTix is not responsible for event quality, cancellations, safety, or venue conditions
  2. LipaTix is not liable for indirect or consequential losses
  3. Liability is limited to the value of the ticket purchased
  4. LipaTix does not guarantee the accuracy of event information provided by organizers

11 Fraud & Security

11.1 Fraud Prevention

Fraudulent activity may lead to account suspension, ticket cancellation, or legal action. Buyers should report suspicious activity immediately through official support channels.

11.2 Security Measures

LipaTix uses industry-standard security measures to protect transactions but cannot guarantee absolute security against all threats.

12 Privacy & Data Protection

Buyer data is handled in accordance with LipaTix's Privacy Policy. Personal information is used for:

  • Ticket delivery and management
  • Payment processing and verification
  • Event communication and updates
  • Platform security and fraud prevention
  • Service improvement and analytics

13 Changes to These Terms

LipaTix may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements.

14 Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Kenya.

14.2 Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiations. If unresolved, disputes shall be handled under Kenyan jurisdiction.
